1. Who We Are

RisenSelf ("we," "our," or "us") operates the RisenSelf platform — an advisor community designed to help you surround yourself with the right voices and perspectives so you can become who you were created to be. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect information when you use our website and services (collectively, the "Service").

By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly

  • Account information — your first name and email address when you register.
  • Profile information — any additional details you choose to add to your profile, such as a bio, photo, or areas of expertise.
  • Content — posts, comments, messages, and any video content you upload or share on the platform.
  • Communications — messages you send to other users or to our support team.

Information collected automatically

  • Usage data — pages visited, features used, links clicked, and session duration.
  • Device and browser data — IP address, browser type, operating system, and referring URLs.
  • Cookies and similar technologies — we use cookies to keep you signed in and to understand how the Service is used.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • Provide, operate, and improve the Service.
  • Create and manage your account and advisor circle.
  • Send transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset, platform notifications).
  • Analyze aggregate usage patterns to improve features and performance.
  • Prevent fraud, abuse, and other harmful activity.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

4. Third-Party Services

We work with the following third-party providers to operate the Service. Each has its own privacy policy governing how it handles your data.

  • Supabase — our database and authentication provider. Account credentials and profile data are stored on Supabase infrastructure.
  • PostHog — product analytics on both the web app and the mobile app. We send PostHog:
    • Your RisenSelf account ID (so we can group activity per user).
    • Your account email address (attached to your person profile in PostHog so we can recognize you in our team dashboards; not used for marketing, not shared with third parties).
    • Your username, membership tier, and admin status (used for breakdowns inside our dashboards).
    • Interaction events such as page or screen views, feature use, and signup/subscription milestones.
    • Device and OS metadata (browser, app version, OS version, locale).
    • Coarse location derived server-side from your IP address (country / region only).
    We do not send PostHog the contents of your posts, messages, plans, decisions, or any other free-text content. Events are retained for the period configured in our PostHog project; you can request a copy or deletion of your PostHog data at any time via the contact address below. On mobile, you can turn analytics off at any time in Settings → Share usage data. PostHog’s own privacy notice and sub-processor list are at posthog.com/privacy.
  • Mux — video hosting and delivery. If you upload video content, it is processed and stored by Mux.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us. We may retain certain information for a limited period thereafter where required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as fraud prevention.

6. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Request deletion of your personal information.
  • Object to or restrict certain types of processing.
  • Export your data in a portable format.

7. Security

We use industry-standard security measures — including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and secure credential storage via Supabase Auth — to protect your information. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
